​Our board is composed of dedicated individuals who have deep roots in Southeast Iowa and West Central Illinois. Having chosen to raise their families in this community, they are passionate about making a positive impact. Their commitment to enriching the lives of the youth they work with is evident in everything they do. Together, they strive to build a brighter future for our community.

Trevor Cushman
President
Trevor is a graduate of Burlington High School where he played soccer earning 1st team all state honors. He played four years of college soccer at Grand View University on a three time national qualifying team, and served as a captain his senior year. There he earned multiple awards including all conference honors and multiple individual player distinctions. Although he was invited to try out at a professional combine, he chose to finish school and return to his community to raise his family. Trevor has coached the Burlington High School Boys soccer team for five years, and has taken on the role of head coach this year. He works at Winegard Company and resides in Burlington with his wife and two sons who both proudly play for BPSC. He feels both the game of soccer and the community of Burlington have truly impacted his life for the better, and loves giving back to the sport and town that made him who he is today.

Alex Cushman
Vice President
Alex grew up in Burlington and attended Burlington High School where she was a multi sport athlete. She continues to live in Burlington with her husband and twin boys. Having been a teacher for 13 years, she currently teaches fifth grade and is a teacher mentor within the BCSD. Alex has worked with kids most of her life and their growth and wellbeing is truly her greatest passion. Being heavily embedded within the community through various organizations is something she feels strongly about, and her favorite part about the BPSC organization is all of the wonderful families and players she’s gotten to know!

Hannah O'Brien
Secretary
Hannah has a lifelong passion for sports. She was a four-sport athlete at Burlington High School and culminated her high school career by receiving All-State softball honors, multi-sport state qualifier, and Drake Relays Shuttle Hurdle champion. She played softball for Southeastern Community College and Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri while obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. She works as the Patient Access Director for Great River Health. Hannah is a coach for Spirit Volleyball Club, Falcon Volleyball Club, and West Burlington Youth Volleyball League. She dedicates herself to her hometown by volunteering in several capacities. As a founding board member of Burlington Predators Soccer Club, Hannah hopes to provide youth the same opportunities to grow and develop as a person through participation in sport that she herself was afforded. Hannah resides in Burlington, IA with her husband, Cory, and their three kids, Kiana, Cayson, and Lleyton. She is proud to raise her kids in the community she grew up in.

Erika Freeman
Treasurer
Erika Freeman resides in Burlington and grew up in rural Illinois. She’s a proud wife and mother of two active children—her son is a thriving Predator soccer player with a passion for multiple sports, including wrestling, basketball, football, golf, and baseball, while her daughter excels as the best cheerleader, eagerly awaiting her turn to shine. Professionally, Erika is a Speech-Language Pathologist for the Great Prairie Area Education Agency, where she is committed to helping her students find their voice as well as succeed academically and socially. Outside of work and running to all her children's activities, she’s a sports lover, traveler, avid reader, and balloon arch creator.

Cory O'Brien
Board Member
Cory grew up in a gym. As the son of legendary Southeastern Community College basketball coach, Joe O’Brien, Cory was surrounded by high performing athletes from a young age. Cory found his own success as a three-sport athlete at Burlington High School. He went on to play basketball at Southeastern Community College and at the Division I level at Idaho State University where he received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees. His most memorable college basketball experience was playing against the University of Iowa in front of many friends and family at Carver Hawkeye Arena. Cory works as the Customer Support Manager for Winegard Company. Cory has volunteered as the Assistant Coach of the West Burlington Boys’ Basketball team and as a coach for a variety of youth sports teams. Cory resides in Burlington, IA with his wife, Hannah, and their three kids, Kiana, Cayson, and Lleyton. He is proud to raise his kids in the community he grew up in.

Jon Ludens
Board Member
Jon is a 2004 graduate of Burlington High School where he was a 3-year varsity winner in soccer. He currently is a sales representative for Partners for Profit Fundraising. He and his wife Meredith live in Mediapolis and together they have five kids Eli, Jake, Lance, Amelia, and Graysen. He has been involved in coaching youth sports throughout the community for the past 15 years ranging from youth soccer and basketball to travel baseball. He is entering his 5th season as the Head Coach at Mediapolis High School for the boys' varsity soccer program. In 2023, Jon was named the SEIA Super Conference coach of the year, and in 2024 The Burlington Hawk Eye coach of the year. Jon said "It is great to see SEIA soccer thriving" and is excited to be part of the Burlington Predators Family.

Courtney Allen
Board Member & Marketing Director
Courtney was born and raised in Southeast Iowa, where she still resides today with her husband and three children, two of whom play for BPSC, and one that aspires to become a pred player when old enough!
By trade, Courtney works with the community to design memorials at Leyda, Burrus, and Metz Monuments. Courtney’s desire to enrich the lives of youth extends beyond southeast Iowa, as she is also a board member of Onesimus, an Ethiopian Non-Profit who seeks to help the impoverished youth of Ethiopia, and offers a soccer outreach program, which BPSC is proud to partner with.

Shawn Cushman
Board Member
Shawn Cushman resides in Burlington with his wife Chris. Shawn's history in building soccer in Southeast Iowa is extensive. Shawn was a founder of the Burlington Area Soccer Club, the first soccer club in thea area, through which the area schools have seen the need to start school programs, Shawn is honored to be part of BPSC, serving as both a board member and coach.

Josh Osborn
Board Member
Josh Osborn resides in Burlington with his wife and two sons. He is a teacher in the Burlington school district and is the head girls track coach and assistant varsity football coach. During the winter months you can find him on the court reffing basketball games. In his free time he enjoys working on lawn mowers and spending time with his family outdoors. Josh is a graduate of Burlington High School where he was a four sport athlete, an all state football player, as well as a track and field Drake relays and state champion.
